I got this morning an email that reads:
“We are Hesperian Press, an Australian publishing team from https://www.hesperianpress.com/
Hope this message finds you well. We are excited to announce an opportunity for versatile Portuguese translators to join our team. Our goal is to bridge the linguistic gap in diverse scenarios, including medical, legal, community, and everyday interactions.
Role Overview: The Lead Translator will be responsible for:
Overseeing translation projects.
Maintaining linguistic quality.
Actively participating in translation projects.
We believe your expertise and experience would be a valuable addition to our team. We are looking forward to working with professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality translations and can adapt to various contexts.

The fact that the text of the email is overflattering made me suspicious, so I contacted Hesperian Press and they responded immediately:

This comes from a mob of Chinese criminals. They steal our name and modify the address.
You are the 4th person to query this. I will place a note on our website to try and counter this rort.
