Pherhaps this question is relevant for translators who do not work from home, or interpreters who have to follow a strict dress code, for example, in court. As a translator who works from home, I usually wear clothes that make me feel comfortable, and are easy to wear. I do not need to dress to impress, all that I need is an impressive brain to do my job well.

Summer at home work attire, 5 dollar house dress from Joe Fresh, fliplops. Maybe I'd go out in public but no further than the mailbox.
Shorts and a very ratty T-shirt. It's summer in San Diego. I could go out to pick up the mail, but I wouldn't go to a store without changing into something nicer.
Business casual | Aug 7, 2020 |
Nice summer dress (it's hot here), jewelry and basic makeup. And inside slippers. I can go out like that just replacing the slippers with sandals.

Pyjama brigade | Aug 8, 2020 |
Self-employed (i.e. no guaranteed fat cat income, work-from-home) translators used to go by the name pyjama brigade. Has that changed?

You mean "dressed" as in clothes? What clothes? Work? What work? No work, no clothes.
