English term

core carbohydrate

English to French Science Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Similar studies have not taken into account the true complexity and molecular significance of LPS, using less complex forms without the O-side chains, and in some cases, without core carbohydrates either.

Des glucides de base??

Merci!

B D Finch Sep 3, 2018:
According to Termium Plus, an oligosaccharide (same word in English and in French) is "A carbohydrate which on hydrolysis yields two to ten monosaccharides."

It gives a number of possible translations of the English term "carbohydrate":

"hydrate de carbone
CORRECT, SEE OBS, MASC

glucide
CORRECT, SEE OBS, MASC
saccharide
CORRECT, MASC
carbohydrate
CORRECT, SEE OBS, MASC, LESS FREQ"

I'm not a chemist, but it looks to me as though translating "carbohydrate" as "oligosaccharide" is wrong.
