English term

IN USE SHELF-LIFE

English to Spanish Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Drug administration instructions
Hola, aquí me desconcierta lo de "in use". "Periodo de conservación EN USO" ¿No suena raro?
Gracias anticipadas :)

IN USE SHELF-LIFE AND STORAGE REQUIREMENTS
The investigational product in the carton, must be
allowed to reach room temperature just prior to injection
cartons (which contain the PFS) with intact tamper evident seals
being left at room temperature for up to 15 hours under ambient light
light or direct sunlight or if the solution is frozen.
Prefilled syringe (PFS) that have been removed from the carton may be held at ambient
temperature for up to 2 hours prior to injection. If PFS
do not use the PFS.
From a microbiological point of view the active and placebo should be administered immediately after the needle shield (cover) has been removed.

Así es. Yo me quedé mirando el "removed from the carton", y se conoce que a partir de ahí, me perdí :-))

What does it mean? What is an in-use shelf-life?

An in-use shelf-life is the time period following the first broaching of a container (for example via a needle entering a bung or the unscrewing of a cap) after which any remaining product in the container should be destroyed. Veterinary medicines, human medicines, and increasingly other types of products such as cosmetics and shampoos specify an in-use shelf-life on their labels.

http://www.aemps.gob.es/cima/pdfs/es/ft/62283/P_62283.pdf
http://www.karizoo.com.mx/arxius/productes_ft/ft_22.pdf
http://www.garrahan.gov.ar/PDFS/cime/julio02.pdf

Y tres de "periodo de validez tras la apertura del envase":

http://www.aemps.gob.es/cima/pdfs/en/ft/77752/FT_77752.pdf
http://ec.europa.eu/health/documents/community-register/2007...

En raras ocasiones también he visto "periodo de validez en condiciones normales/reales de uso/utilización".

Saludos cordiales.

Creo que hace referencia a la vida útil del producto mientras se usa/desde el momento en que se comienza a usar.
