Hi Lorena, I just saw your question. Yes, it's the same client on similar project.
lorenab23 Jul 17, 2015:
Are these similar to the terms you asked back in 2013, when you were dealing with guayaberas from Cuba?
Hinara (asker) Jul 17, 2015:
Yes, I've been waiting for more context.
Phoenix III Jul 17, 2015:
@Asker hahaha I thought I lived in "Guayabera country"! give up on this one. I have 14 years experience designing and making "fajas" for every day as well as post-surgery. But I don't agree with calling the back of shirt/blouse "faja". How about asking your client for pics of the group you list to get a better idea?
Hinara (asker) Jul 17, 2015:
They do make guayaberas for women but in this case, I think the "dama" may have another meaning in sewing. "faja trasera" may refer to part of the backside of the shirt.
Phoenix III Jul 17, 2015:
@Asker That is extremely confusing. Guayabera is a man's shirt. Blusa is blouse for women.
Guayabera is shirt. Based on the context I gave my feedback. Based on the additional context provided... I am confused. I haven't even seen a woman wear a Guayabera! :0)
Hinara (asker) Jul 17, 2015:
Guayabera The client is saying that these tags belong to the making of "guayaberas." In that case, what would "damas" be referring to? Does the word have another meaning in clothes making?
Hinara (asker) Jul 17, 2015:
Garment no clear Hi Phoenix,

The type of garment is not stated. One can only surmise based on the details of the other tags. I do like your suggested translation.

Phoenix III Jul 17, 2015:
@Asker Sorry I hit enter by mistake. Can you tell us what sort of garments is this for?
Phoenix III Jul 17, 2015:
@ Asker I know that you gave context but I used to design and manufacture shape wear for men and women. So when I see "faja trasera" it has a very specific meaning to me. As it stands, I could go 3 different ways.

Back women's body shaper/shape wear

Bodyshapers or shapewear (yes, we use one word) is cut into different pieces which are later on assembled. At one point, depending on the design, the label is sewn. Short terms are used since everybody knows the full meaning. FAJA TRASERA DAMA, means the back which has been assembled and the label/tag is ready to be sewn.

the back part of the bodyshaper.

On further thought: Blusa interna, means it is probably (cotton) lined inside (like mine) and this is the top part and this is where the label will be sewn.
Lastly, attach and turn over the front part (of the girdle) however, girdle is a term absolutely nobody uses anymore. We say, bodyshaper or shapewear. The Hispanic population of So. FLorida do say "FAJAS".

butt lifter

I did a Google image search for "faja trasera" and "butt lifter" and came up with the same images. The image search for "butt lifter" in fact actually has "faja trasera" listed in the web address. See Web references below.
