English to French Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks spare parts
Il s'agit d'un manuel énonçant la partie mécanique d'un autobus.
Le document n'est qu'une liste de pièces détachées, pas de texte brut..

Le titre est : "ASSEMBLY OF DYNO DRIVE WITH POLY V PULLEY "

avec les pièces détachées suivantes :
- 55A ALTERNATOR POLY-V (MICO)
- 55A ALTERNATOR POLY-V (L-TVS)
- ALTERNATOR BRACKET
- LINK BOLT
- SPLIT BUSH
- BELT 8 PK 1250 (FENNER)
- VALVE COOLANT COCK FOR WATER DRAIN
etc..

Si je ne me trompe pas, "poly v" réfère à "gorges multiples en V", mais je ne cerne pas "dyno drive pulley"..
S'agit-il d'une "poulie d'entraînement dynamométrique" ???

Thanks! Thanks everyone for looking into this. Not easy, I used "alternateur" as a translation, agreed with client.. Also for "Poly-V-Pulley" I found out that "poulie Poly-V" can be used in French, which made it easier.

Not relevant Firstly, that's talking about soemthing quite different — a kind of test rig.

And secondly, that is an abominable translation into FR from what was presumably an English (or Chinglish) source text — so certainly not to be relied upon or in any way regarded as authoritative.

I agree with Tony ... "dyno" very probably short for "dynamo".

Possibility That 'dyno' could simply be short for 'dynamo' — even though they have been alternators for years, some people insist on calling them dynamos!

As for 'poly', might it also refer to a plastic material? 'poly' for 'multi' is comparatively unusual in EN (unlike FR).
