brake pads? The current terminology in France for brake pads is "plaquettes", but there is very little context to go on in your brief sample. A lot more context would be very helpful in assessing exactly what is being talked about. A "patin" is very often a skid, slider or runner (as well as a skate...)

Or simply pads, if braking is not in the context.

neutral Tony M : There are so many possiiblities, but I don't see any connection with braking; 'patins' are in fact sometimes a form of 'skids', so quite the opposite in fact (remember, 'patinage' = 'skating'!)

I'm afraid the exact word you need for 'patins' depends entirely on their actual form and function, there really isn't a single, universal word in EN that you could use and be right in every context; you really need to ask you client to supply more details of the equipment, a drawing, or something to guide you.

Just remember that 'patin' shares the same root as 'patiner' = 'to skate', and usually relates to something that is meant to slide / glide / slip / move freely.

agree Travelin Ann : since it seems to be a pallet mover, what about fork?
