French to English Bus/Financial
Item in financial statement: "Implantations étrangères avant..." Would "overseas branches established before..." be correct, or is there a better way of saying it? TIA.

Operations is nice and generic. It could refer to offices, factories, sales outlets etc.

branches or subsidiaries or even companies or units

it all depends on language (GB or US )and whether we are dealing with fully-fledged local law companies or just local correspondents or franchisees or any other form...

overseas locations

that's the most generic Sarah, which is what implantation is: it's not a filiale or a succursale or anything.
