agree Guy Bray : in mineral processing one would normally say scrubbing, I think. A little further clarification: scrubbing is usually for minerals (in a scrubber!), and washing for coal, but in gold/diamond alluvial mining it would be washing, to separate the fines.

Thank you Guy for the specific lexi. But in this case, we don't know what the ore is but with "broyage" mentioned I would tend to think about minerals.
