waste from cereals

As a starter. I'm 99% sure that Getreideausputz must be "Getreidereste", particularly given the context, but I can't think of the correct English equivalent. If it occurs to me, I'll be back

I think "grain waste" and more seldom "milling waste" are the terms you're probably looking for here.
A link:
"Initially, the facility will accept grain waste, fish waste, plate scraps from area restaurants, old vines from Superior's Bay Produce and yard waste"

Spent grain is correct to a certain extent, but I'm pretty sure it's ONLY what remains after a brewing or distillation process. I'm quite willing to be corrected, of course!

"The council would consider a proposal to compost its waste. Use might also be made of some of the large quantities of manure and grain waste produced in the area by companies such as Vic Grain and Luv-a-Duck"

Peer comment(s):

neutral Edith Kelly : For your info: Ausputz is something coming from unprocessed cereal e.g. after having been cleaned for processing, spent grain is what remains after the cereal has been "exhausted" after processing, here mashing, lautering etc.

I thought it was, which is why I said that spent grain isn't really appropriate here (am I right that it only results from the distilling/brewing process?). The best option would be "grain waste" IMO

cereal cleanings

In 1998/99, annual gas production was higher than expected due to
extra supplies of other biomass such as chaff and dust from cereal
cleanings and condemned animalfeeding pills. [http://www.etis.net/caddet/retb/no149.pdf]
