How easy is it to learn?

Déjà Vu keeps getting better and better
Review by
Herbert Eppel I have been using Déjà Vu since 2000, and it just keeps getting better and better. I can't imagine running my translation business without it. Free support is available in a number of different forms and forums, and the DV user community is extremely friendly and helpful.
Thoroughly recommended!

What a relief after SDL Studio!
Review by
Gyula Erdesz After using SDL, Star Transit and Kilgray products extensively for more than 8 years, I gave a try for Deja Vu a couple of weeks ago.
I am simply amazed how simple, robust and intuitive it is. Its unique functions like DeepMiner, AutoAssemble and Lexicon boost up your productivity. The active and helpful tech forum on yahoo groups means another priceless advantage.
I can only recommend it to anyone.

How easy is it to learn?

Innovative tool, stable translation environment
Review by
Wolfgang Jörissen Quite a few features that have only recently been implemented in other tools have been present in Deja Vu since more than 10 years, especially the handling of subsegments. The most recent version comes the best predictive typing feature ("AutoWrite") that I have seen in the industry: no need to create a special dictionary, no minimum TM size required. For me still my no. 1 tool.

How easy is it to learn?

My tool No. 2
Review by
Stanislav Pokorny I have purchased DVX2 relatively recently (October 2012) for some special scenarios. It was a fierce fight between DVX2 and MemoQ, but I certainly don't regret the decision I made in the end.

DVX2 is a very robust tool with some very nice features: many of them are implemented in a better way than in other tools, some of them are unique to DVX2.

Nevertheless, learning how to use this software and how to make full use of its more advanced features requires some time and basic SQL skills. Also some aspects of the current version (8.0.585) of the GUI needs improving to make the tool more user-friendly and mature in terms of ease of use.

All tools you need are integreated into one package
Review by
Roy Oestensen . First: Current version is X3. It is my favourite tool, and I have used quite a few by now.
- You can choose if you want source above translation or side by side. For most other tools you seem to be stuck with one or the other.
- Spell checker on the fly. You can right click on the words that have a wiggly line below, and change the spelling then and there.
- Tags are numbered rather than named. This makes it easier to me to se if tags in for instance xliff files are correctly placed than in some other translation tools.
-You are not limited to a specific number of languages, like some other CAT tools. All languages are available to be chosen for each project.
- Easy to switch between project view (all documents in one view) and document view.
- Preview is available for some document types (Office documents)
- Formating is shown in the translation grid.
-It is easy to start using the tool if you are new, and it is backed up by a newsgroup where the users are very dedicated and helpful if you get into problems. Also Atril has put out quite a few Youtube videos to help you if you need more instructions.
- Minor updates are put out for free from time to time.
