Italian term

gusto della responsibilità e rispetto per il lavoro

Italian to English Marketing Wine / Oenology / Viticulture winery website
This is marketing blah blah for a winery website and comes under the heading "la filosofia d'azienda".
Here's the whole "sentence" plus a bit more:

"Passione per la natura e per la terra, **gusto della responsabilità e rispetto per il lavoro**.
Rapporto di forte rispetto e passione per la campagna, trasmesso dalle origini contadine tipiche di questo territorio, ma anche capacità di interpretare in modo imprenditoriale un’attività tipicamente agricola, sviluppando progetti innovativi e di trasformazione."

I may be missing something here but does "gusto della responsibilità..." make any sense?

ma metti quel che ti piace di più: un tipo d'aria fritta vale l'altro.
Il giro di parole è bruttissimo. I romani avrebbero risposto: ah si, sche l'avvvete er ggusto de responsabbilità? Mo magnatevela!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Almost all your suggestions helped a great deal, particularly Michael's (I liked "work ethics") and Rachel's ("keen sense" was good). I can't split the points unfortunately but thanks to all for your input! "

responsible and hardworking

I think this is the English equivalent, where the understatement of plain simple prose translates "gusto" and "rispetto" with greatest effect.

neutral Ashish (HIN,ENG) Nadia (ITA) : a littel too understated no?

More a question of a few well chosen words carrying more weight, than understatement I suppose.

responsible winemaking and viticulture/viticultural practices

Hi, Carly

I'd stick to responsible here, which I also read as a hint to the 'drink responsibly' campaigns.

The sentence refers to the sense of being accountable within the winery, during winemaking, but covers the whole vineyard-to-bottle process, and the skilled labour that goes with it.
Because these concepts are further explained in the rest of the sentence, I'd go for a non-literal translation.

For a more literal translation of the second half of the sentence you could use sth like skilled-labour stewardship.
