Hi all,
am having trouble with a phrase,i know exactly what it means but have trouble translating it into english:(it is talking about past events of a character but we don't get to see directly):

It can either be off-camera or off-screen, but from a technical point of view it's what is not captured by the camera so I'd opt for off-camera.(From the viewer's perspective, it's off-screen.) www.analitica.com/bitblioteca/ibsen_martinez/orbital.asp

: Here "off screen" (two words), with "offscreen" as the adjective. This is the term.

"Off-screen" to me suggests an actor who is no longer in character rather than action that forms part of the story but which takes place elsewhere or at another time. "Hence out of shot". I hope that makes sense!
