This machine is a pig grading probe. Unfortunately I can not give more context becuse...these credits "appear" only in that paragraph... this is what it's written before but i don't know if it can be useful...

The probe will then display the probes current communication settings. 8 – the number of bits, n – no parity, 1-1stop bit and the 38400 baud rate. It is necessary for the computer or serial printer settings to match these settings. The xxxx can also run with xxxx compatible communication settings of 4800,7,e,2 or 4800,8,n,1.

context please could you please give the paragraph in question and/or an idea of whether this is, for example, a milk distributing machine, a fertility/disease tester, or what ???? Perhaps I'm being dumb, but I have no idea what type of credits your ?machine? measures :-)
