Pensavo che fosse un refuso per monocontatto, e infatti ci sono più hit google per sensore “manocontatto”.

Hoepli non mi aiuta per la traduzione e non riesco a trovare un buon riferimento per il significato.

Hard to decide.. It's definitely something that senses pressure - but whether it's sending the information to an analogue gauge or an electronic relay would make the difference for me of picking between 'sensor' or 'switch'.

pressure switch

a pressure switch normally has one contact built in however thera are versions with multi-contacts. I dont think it matters much for the context as an output has to be provided any way so I would simply say pressure switch

In the end I went for “manostat” because I did have to specify a “type” of sensor. The (wider) context indicated that the sensor is used to, indirectly, maintain a constant pressure in a confined space, so “manostat” makes sense but, were the source a little more obliging, I think I would have stuck with “pressure sensor”."
