En los últimos meses hemos escuchado sobre el sinfín de problemas de RIM, la empresa canadiense detrás del otrora popular BlackBerry.
El dispositivo ha ido perdiendo su estatus como el teléfono favorito de las empresas, ha cedido mercado a Apple y Google y se ha visto forzado a cambiar los ejecutivos que dirigen su destino.
El panorama ha sido tan sombrío, que la empresa reportó pérdidas por US$230 millones en el último trimestre.
Pero no todo son malas noticias. Aun existen territorios donde Blackberry reina.
En dos regiones del mundo, y por distintas razones, el dispositivo canadiense aún es un éxito.
Una de ellas es América Latina. Según cifras de la agencia de análisis de mercado, IDC, al cierre del 2011 en la región se vendían casi once millones de BB (como se le conoce al teléfono) en comparación con poco más de dos millones de iPhone.
Según RIM llevan dos años consecutivos con el liderazgo del mercado en suelo latinoamericano, gracias a que el 46% de sus usuarios son menores de 24 años. Los jóvenes usan el teléfono gracias al Blackberry Messenger, un sistema que les permite conversar en forma ilimitada sin pagar extra. IDC, en 2011, aseguraba que en la región Blackberry lideraba con 35% del mercado.
La otra región es África en donde Blackberry ha ganado gran popularidad y es el teléfono inteligente más vendido. Nokia aún conserva el liderazgo si se habla de todos los dispositivos.

لقد سمعنا فى الشهور الأخيرة عن المشاكل التى لا حصر لها للشركة الكندية أر أى إم إثر التراجع الشعبى
للبلاك بيرى.
بدأ الجهاز فى فقد وضعه كهاتف مفضل لدى الشركات فاسحاً المجال فى السوق ل آبل و جوجل, مما جعله مجبور على تغيير المديرين التنفذيين الذين يتحكمون فى مصيره.
كان المشهد معتم للغاية, حيث أن الشركة سجلت خسائر تقدر بحوالى 230 مليون دولار فى الربع الأخير من العام.
لكن ليست كلها أخبار سيئة و لا داعى للتشاؤم, بل يوجد أماكن و فيها البلاك بيرى هو الذى يسيطر على السوق.
مازال ُيمثل الجهاز الكندى نجاحاً فى منطقتين من العالم و لإسباب مختلفة.
واحدة منهم هى أمريكا اللاتينية, حيث أنه فى نهاية عام 2011 و طبقاً لأرقام وكالة تحليل مؤشرات السوق آى دى سى أنه تم بيع حوالى 11 مليون جهاز بلاك بيرى مقارنةً ببيع أقل من 2 مليون من الآى فون.
حسب أر أى إم, احتل الجهاز الصدارة على مدى عامين متتاليين و ذلك بسبب أن حوالى 46% من مستخدميه أقل من 24 عام. يستخدم الشباب الهاتف بفضل البلاك بيرى ماسنجر النظام الذى يسمح لهم بالمحادثة بلا حدود و بدون دفع زيادة. فى حين أنه فى نفس العام أكدت آى دى سى أنه تصدر بنسبة 35% من السوق.
المنطقة الأخرى هى أفريقيا, حيث اكتسب الجهاز شعبية كبيرة لكونه الهاتف الأكثر مبيعاً. و إذا تطرقنا بالحديث عن كل الأجهزة نجد أن الذى مازال يحتل الصدارة الأكثر هو نوكيا.
