solutions aqueuses de gomme gellane formant un gel clair transparent
Ingrédients non médicinaux : gomme gellane, mannitol, trométhamine et eau pour injection. Du bromure
de benzododécinium à 0,012 % est ajouté comme préservateur.
La gomme gellane utilisée dans cette solution contient un hétéropolysaccharide anionique très purifié. En
présence de cations, les solutions aqueuses de gomme gellane à faibles concentrations en polymères forment
un gel clair transparent. La concentration du cation sodium dans les larmes est idéale pour provoquer la
gélification de la substance instillée dans le sac lacrymal. TIMOPTIC-XE® se gélifie au contact du film lacrymal
précornéen. L’excipient de TIMOPTIC-XE®, la gomme gellane, permet d’accroître la durée du contact du
médicament avec l’oeil.
