Translation projects are like humanitarian aid packages. They should be given directly to translators/interpreters of underdeveloping/developing countries to improve their living conditions. Translation projects are like humanitarian aid packages. They should be given directly to translators/interpreters of underdeveloping/developing countries to improve their living conditions. This is because I have seen many projects from the United States, European communities, and other advanced countries being subcontracted and awarded directly to companies or agencies in big and developed countries such as China or India before reaching the hands of those in poor countries like Cambodia with the highly reduced price. Please reconsider this point and help to improve the living condition of people of poor countries.

It would stand to reason that NGOs and other aid/development agencies would seek out in-country entrepreneurs to provide language services for local/indigenous languages, since doing so would provide more local jobs than non-local agencies.

Unfortunately, these agencies allegedly attempt to maximize their resources while minimizing costs, including time expenditure. This means utilizing a single source for translations into multiple languages, rather than trying to find individual in-country language service providers for less common languages.

To change this situation would require a concerted effort on the part of local entrepreneurs to raise awareness among NGOs and the like. ▲ Collapse
