View the poll results » I don't feel I need to separate my work from the rest of my life. I will usually perform some sort of work-related action every day, even if it's only checking my emails on the off chance something has come in. If I do take any "down time" it's usually random or circumstantial. | | | Interlangue (X) Angola Local time: 23:52 English to French + ...
Not every week, not always the same day... usually a "long weekend" after several weeks. | | | Thayenga Germany Local time: 23:52 Member (2009) English to German + ... No particular day. | Dec 17, 2011 |
Although I still check emails on my day off, I try to stay away from the computer/phone as much as possible when I do have a day off, which could be any day of the week, depending on the work load.

Tricky poll to run.... | Dec 17, 2011 |
... because presumably, whatever day you run it on, that day will be under-represented in the results. (If we assume that for some people at least, one result of not working is that they don't visit this august website on that day, so they can't answer the poll.) | | | Simon Bruni United Kingdom Local time: 22:52 Member (2009) Spanish to English I like having Saturdays off for some reason | Dec 17, 2011 |
So what the hell am I doing on Proz! I'm outta here... | | | no special day | Dec 17, 2011 |
but it often turns out that on friday, no one contacts me for jobs. It's unusual if they do, so I often take Friday off and that's when I do shopping or the gym.

I don't have any set days off. There are advantages to having time off at the weekend (it's easier to socialize with friends who work standard hours in office jobs) and advantages to having time off on weekdays (socializing with friends who work shifts, shopping when the shops are less crowded etc.) I don't even feel the need to have a day off each week, as long as there's some time off in between periods of intense work. Today is my 3rd consecutive day off after 2 weeks of non-stop work. I'll probably take tomorrow off too, and work a bit harder on Monday & Tuesday to meet my next deadline. ▲ Collapse

Hi, I work 7 days a week, but not for the whole day. From Monday to Friday I work the whole day, but sometimes I take a day off in the week for shopping, appointment, kids, etc. and then I work in the evening. I would like to unwind myself though, recently I have no time for myself. I know I need to make time. However my clients sometimes tell me how to relax and healthy food such as chrysanthemum tea and Barbary Wolfberry Fruit(Lycium chinense) via Skype. BTW, Christmas is almost here. I wish we can continue to work vigorously next year and .。.:*・゚a Merry-X'mas:*・゚。:.* (#^.^#)/
