Bio
Over the years of my practice I have developed excellent spoken English and can easily do consecutive interpreting at all levels.

I have written quite lengthy financial reports and performing my day-to-day job in UK I constantly communicate with clients both in writing and verbally.

I can therefore provide translating and interpreting services in the following main areas:
- Law: contracts, dispute resolution, conveyance, commercial property etc.

- Certificates, patents, personal documents

- Finance, economics

- Technical, engineering (electric powered lifting equipment)

- Marketing, retail, sales

- Social science, theatre

However, I can assist in a number of other areas – please do not hesitate to ask.

I have local knowledge of Kiev (Ukraine), Moscow and some other parts of Russia and can act as a guide, as well as a high quality interpreter.

I am a native Russian speaker currently living in the UK and working in the public sector for Staffordshire County Council administrating servicing contracts, providing technical and legal advice and assistance over the phone and in person to the members of the community and service contractors on issues related to accounts payable and Health & Safety aspects regarding lifting hydraulic and electric powered equipment. Due to the requirements of the job I speak English to a native level. I am a hands-on SAP R/3 Production and SAP Portal user. Currently I am being involved into Risk Management and Insurance projects to facilitate the Management of Change.

Together with full-time employment, I work with Foreign Language Services in Stafford, UK on proof-reading of a variety of materials for JCB heavy machinery ranges with text volumes 15,000 to 40,000 words. My work included not only thorough check and correction of any misspelt words but also style, ease of reading, appropriateness of the specific terms and their traditional meaning in my language had to be regarded in order to help building up translation memory for this on-going project.

I have also established good relations with and done translation assignments for:

- Stone Computers Ltd (Stone, Staffordshire, UK), PowerPoint;

- Vulcan Refractories Ltd (Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, UK), Acrobat + Adobe Photoshop;

- Premier Translations via ProZ.com, certified translation of personal documents, Acrobat Reader;

- A number of projects for Translation Services USA via ProZ.com, marketing and banking specialities (e.g. translation of Prescott, Inc. web site), DreamWeaver and PDFDesk.

Besides the above, I also work on minor ad hoc projects via TranslatorsDatabase.com and Language123.com.

I have recently become a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, membership and indemnity insurance number is 00009208. I have CRB clearance as a public sector employee. I am a member of the ITI West Midlands Group and actively participate in its work; I have recently put my candidate forward for the voluntary position of Interpretation Representative to assist the Group in organization of venues and events on the variety of subjects in this area. The Group also closely works with Aston University and NEC, Birmingham UK.

I completed 10 weeks’ practice as a legal secretary in Hacking Ashton LLP Solicitors in Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK in autumn 2005 in their Commercial Conveyance and Litigation departments. The Company has got a large clients’ network in USA and Eastern Europe. Full details of this work experience are given in the CV attached.

Overall, I have over 3 years work history in a variety of businesses in the UK and just over 2 years in Russia actively using my legal language skills being a personal assistant to the bankruptcy manager and arbitrator in Tula (near Moscow). The latter involved certain knowledge of accounts and tax. I am educated to an outstanding level of grammar and spelling in my native language having done “A” levels and performed all of the Word processing for bankruptcy manager to be produced in courts and other public authorities.

At present I am studying towards a law degree LL.B (Hons) at Staffordshire University having already obtained Academic Certificate in general civil law at Moscow Law University for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Certificate of the National Association of Paralegals and various text production and word processing qualifications in the UK.

I have got a broadband and am available on-line on Skype, Yahoo! Messenger and ICQ. I am fully equipped with PC, laptop, scanner, printer etc. I also use Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, Quark Xpress, full MS Office package and capable of using translation memories if and when required.

I am available at a short notice and all days of the week. Typically my translation capacity is around 3000 words per day. If it is necessary, I am also available for accompanying clients travelling in the UK, Moscow and Kiev and can act as a guide.
