High School Certificate (Pre-university course) Explanation: COU era el curso pre-universitario (ahora todo ha cambiado). Antes el instituto se dividía en BUP (3 primeros años) y COU (cuarto año y de preparación a la universidad). Yo pondría High School Certificate, porque aunque equivale a por ejemplo el Senior Year norteamericano, en realidad da fe de haber terminado todo el instituto. Si en el CV pone "BUP y COU"...yo lo dejaría en español y entre paréntesis pondría High School Certificate. (Soy traductora jurada y he traducido CVs) Yo...que como todo el mundo me mat� a estudiar en COU :-) para sacar una nota decente en Selectividad |

12th grade Explanation: Son las siglas de "Curso de Orientación Universitaria", como han sugerido otros traductores. Sería algo así como "Course of University Preparation", pero no existe tal cosa en inglés. Yo lo dejaría simplemente como "12th grade" (12o curso o grado), puesto que ése es el nivel educativo al que corresponde. |

are you referring to the exam or the course? Explanation: If you refer to it as an EXAM, i.e the exam whose results will indicate your suitability for university, probably teh best and most succinct translation would be (Spanish) university entrance exam. If you refer to the ACADEMIC COURSE, of one year duration, then a more literal translation would be necessary, e.g University Preparation Course. |
