После разложения вольфрама отгоняют фтористоводородную кислоту, упаривая раствор досуха.
Возникло сомнение насчет варианта для "отгоняют".

: Distilled было если бы фтористоводородная кислота отгонялась (точнее возгонялась) для получения ее самой в чистом виде. А тут отгонка делается для ее удаления из раствора // distill off - это отгонка для получения дистиллята.

Это именно то,что имеется в виду. Нужно удалить эту вредную кислотную примесь ее выпариванием ("отгонкой" на сленге). Пар уходит наружу. А ваше значение "отгонки" - это наоборот - выделение дистиллята кислоты ее испарением с последующей конденсацией пара
