Explanation:
The term isn't really braid, it's さんすくみ, but I think that "braid" might be a good translation (but be sure that it works with the context).

さんすくみ refers to some combination of three things, like "rock-scissors-papers", where A beats B, B beats C, and C beats A.

On second thought, you may want to do a little rewording of the sentence and end up with something like "these three problems form a rock-scissors-paper relationship...", or something like that. =)
