rapporto vuoto pieno

relationship between solids and voids

I've just realised.
In English architectural terminology this is normally covered by the single word "massing"

"It is against a white surface that one best appreciates the play of light and shadow, solids and voids".

"The massing of the building and its exterior articulation responds to contingent site characteristics..."

empty/full relationship

The second reason is that I've just completed updating my recent article Empty/Full. Empty and full are the terms the architect-painter Le Corbusier (1887-1965) used to describe the void-solid relationships that comprise physical phenomena, including buildings, landscapes, and cities. And I've been thinking for some time now that few examples illustrate this idea more clearly, more paradigmatically, than Central Park.

in questo contesto userei RELATIONSHIP

Romy

empty/full ratio

Will a feedback from the ring buffer >(empty/full ratio) be used to correct the speed of the mechanics, so >that the buffer is always around 50% full ? ...

proportion of void to solid

In architecture, also rapporto = proportion.
In this case the proportions of the "quattro corpi secondari"

most cases it will be necessary that a proportion of void to solid not significantly greater than the original, is maintained.\"
