Italiano term

cortico-sottocorticale cerebellare emisferica paravermiana inferiore destro

Da Italiano a Inglese Medico/Sanitario Medicina (generale) CT scan - cerebellum
This is in a report of a brain CT. It says:

"... la TAC cerebrale documentava la comparsa di due focolai ipodensi in *sede cortico-sottocorticale cerebellare emisferica paravermiana inferiore destro* e fronto-parietale laterale dx ..."

It's the word order of all these terms that I'm not certain about.

How should I translate this series of words into the correct English form?

Thank you.

yes, I left out inferior Great Joe. Sounds perfect. paravermis or paranormal are both in different EN documents on the lizard brain as some call it. Take care and have great day.

Thank you all I sent my version to a doctor friend who in turn sent it to his radiologist son for review: the verdict was that it looks correct.

(I'm also happy that I could learn more about this miraculous little structure and all the things it does for us.)

Sounds good to me to.

Sounds good to me (probably better than the Italian original text :-))

my attempt I kept researching these terms and cerebellar anatomy, and have come up with the following translation ... please confirm or correct this:

"Brain CT showed two hypodense foci in the *cortical/subcortical paravermal area of the right inferior cerebellar hemisphere* ... " etc. (the rest was not a problem)

I suspect that the Italian sentence may have been poorly written, but I'm not in the best position to judge this.

Cortical, subcortical, paravermis on the right cerebellar hemisphere

Hi Joe,
Looking at the diagrams in the pdf cited below, this is how I might put it. Maybe, some more googling might make it better. Then there is another document. What is important is that the reader clearly understand what the IT writer wanted to say. Here it is a specific location on a CT scan. Good luck. It ain't rocket science but it is neurosurgery.

Hi Cedric. Thanks for your suggestion as well ... see my last comment in the Discussion above. Auguri e buona giornata.
