at the distal rehabitation site Explanation: Ambito della ricanalizzazione endovascolare, termine quasi introvabile e comunque misconosciuto in inglese; indica in qualche modo un punto del vaso ostruito in cui si è ricreata pervietà - "repatency"). "Section of Vascular Surgery, Department of Medical and Surgical...: *...rehabitation of the popliteal artery* with one to three runoff vessels. The graft surveillance protocol also included duplex ultrasound (US) scanning, with ABI" Check also here: http://ats.ctsnetjournals.org/cgi/reprint/85/1/305.pdf + www.springerlink.com/index/q62w710840g3748u.pdf |

where flow/circulation has been restored distally Explanation: based on my research of the use of this word (riabitazione) in the context of "arteria" In other words, where the vessel is patent distally. I am convinced that "riabitazione" means something like the vessel has been "reopened" and blood flow restored. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2009-09-29 14:59:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Rehabitation" is NOT an English word. The ref with "rehabitation of the popliteal artery" is written by an Italian. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2009-09-29 16:21:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- This is the revascularisation process. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2009-09-29 16:22:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- www2.ing.unipi.it/~d9084/biomeccanica/pmtess/protesi3.doc |

Reference: see related question Reference information: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/italian_to_english/medical:_cardio... It's definitely "riabitazione", which is definitely NOT translated by rehabilitation or rehabitation (both of which are meaningless in the context of arteries in English) |
