Can anyone help explain the following sentence? I'm not quite sure what the writer means and am not convinced by a literal translation (frontal fixedness/steadiness)
Thanks.

Hi again, I forgot that you asked about the rest of the sentence. The author is basically saying that the work is very two dimensional in nature (rather than three dimensional as many paintings attempt to be).
