board exam Explanation: I'm not quite sure what you're after, but "board exams" is when, for instance, a veterinarian takes his final exams for certification from the licensing board. It's also "board certification", or it is said that someone is "studying for their boards" (i.e. board exams). If it's a lawyer in particular, it's the "bar exam", and he/she is "studying for the bar" or "taking the bar on Saturday", for instance. Hope that helps, but not sure. :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 33 perc (2006-07-18 04:59:01 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- If it is to be a certified MPA (Masters in Public Affairs), then board exam would be correct. The board exam is not given by the university, it is always by an independent authority that grants certificatin of some kind. Final exam(s) are typically at the end of the semester or academic year, and are always given by the university or school itself. Hope that helps! Good luck! |
