Non-PRO Hebrew to English Art/Literary Linguistics

It appears a few times in a Ketubah in front of a name.
Chaf may be "chavod" or "chvod", but "alef" puzzles me.

Proposed translations (English)

Simon Charass (asker) May 21: Hi Vera, It is chaf, not kuf. A number before a person's name does not make sense. Thanks.
Vere Barzilai May 12: number or date? Could it maybe refer to a number kuf chaf aleph. It seems to my less likely that it means chavod.
