I know this is about Italian unification, (context here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risorgimento) but I don't know the term for this group. A-catholic? Acatholic? One of the times Google is hopeless...

Autrefois, disons approximativement avant Vatican II, l'Eglise priait pour la conversion des acatholiques (c'est-à-dire de "a" privatif : ceux qui ne sont pas catholiques) à l'unique religion du Christ. Cette prière était formulée surtout lors du Vendredi Saint. Tout en respectant les personnes, elle permettait de penser (sans vraiment prendre position) que les religions a-catholiques étaient oeuvre du démon.
