French term or phrase: en liquide ou cash
In my text, it talks about "des billets d'avion qui ont été réglés en liquide ou cash". I think they were purchased in an agency of the airline but it's not clear. I would have translated both as "paid for in cash". Does anyone know the difference? in kind?

thanks

paid cash, cash payment ...
Explanation:
SJLD says it best ... En liquide, en cash, en espèces all mean the same - cash payment. They could also mean with a direct debit card - electronic cash.

neutral  writeaway: as everyone has said in the D box, liquide (in Fr) and cash both mean the same thing.

disagree  jasonwkingsley: Liquide is an abbreviation for 'argent liquide' (that which can be used straight away, flows) Cash is an adopted English term. It would never be used for cheques or debit cards.

in dough or cash

Explanation:
The writer is just using different slang words for 'physical money' cash is one of them when you say it in french...it's almost as if the writer is defining 'liquide' in the phrase..
