v.s. Explanation: dam is the female of an animal species(usually a mother).So I'd say that here we have experimental (treated) groups composed by 20 female (and possibly pregnant) individuals each. I've often encountered such expressions in research work (e.g. the so called "dominant lethal" method in toxicology). (Please excuse my answewing in English, but Spanish is barely sufficient to get the hang of a thread...) |
