Nasýtený tuk je tuk, ktorý sa skladá z triglyceridov obsahujúcich iba nasýtené mastné kyseliny, radikálmi. Existuje niekoľko druhov prirodzene sa vyskytujúcich nasýtených mastných kyselín, ktoré sa líšia počtom atómov uhlíka, od 3 až do 35. Nasýtené mastné kyseliny nemajú dvojitú väzbu medzi atómami uhlíka v reťazci mastných kyselín a sú teda plne nasýtené vodíkovými atómami.
