English term or phrase: almost car-like iris
In a description of a new concept car, the phrase below refers to a new styling of theadlamps.

"The headlamps which evolve the twin-lamp motif seen on the previous models into a single slim wedge, are narrow and angular. They bring an air of aggression to the profile, while between the lamps a blue streak of light reveals an almost car-like iris when illuminated."

Is this "iris" to be interpreted as that of an eye?
What does "almost car-like" mean?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

猫の目のよう(に・な)
Explanation:
Hello Reiko,

I think this must be a typo for "cat-like iris. "
Yes, iris is referring to the iris of the eyes ((眼球の)虹彩), but in this case I think you only need to use "目" in your translation, although of course that is entirely up to you. Iris is used in the English (I assume) to emphasize that the headlights are blue in color.

I should clarify - it is not the headlights that are blue in color, but the "streak of light" *between* the 2 lamps, which according to the text, form a single slim wedge with its narrow, angular lights (to paraphrase).
Accordingly, the front of the car would look like it had *just one* cat's eye, with the blue streak in the middle and the 2 white lights on either side.

Furthermore, please note that "r" is next to "t" on the keyboard, so typing "car" for "cat" would be easy.
