franks Si tratta di un sistema di controllo di una serie di macchinari industriali che, attraverso una catena di montaggio, trasportano, smistano e imballano il prodotto, chiamato sempre genericamente "product" e una sola volta "franks", a parte il nome del sistema "Frank Loading System". La traduzione pi� plausibile sembrerebbe "buste affrancate", ma neppure questa mi convince molto.

in effetti potrebbe essere "post-free mail/letters" però "franks" si usa anche nel US per indicare le salsicce tipo wurstel. Non c'è altra indicazione nel testo?

agree Olivia Bisegna : frank sta per frankfurter, ovvero un wurstel. Ho vissuto per svariati anni in Irlanda e in Inghilterra e lì li chiamano così

L'industria che produce questi macchinari è infatti specializzata nella produzione di alimentari e suprattutto nel confezionamento di salsicce. La tua risposta mi ha dato la certezza che si tratta di questo, dato che in nessun dizionario avevo mai trovato finora "frank" per salsiccia. Come diremmo noi in Italia: "I would kiss you on your forehead"! Gaetano."
