Blijkbaar een benaming voor 'the tiny wire that connects to the detector crystal in a crystal radio set. The radio itself was also called a "Cats Whisker" during the pioneering days of broadcasting in 1925.'

The Cats Whisker Streamer Lure was invented by the English Fly Fisherman David Train in the 1980's. David named the fly "Cats Whisker" because on the original design, he used four white whiskers shed from his pet cat to stop the wing looping around the hook shank!
