sheet piles Explanation: Na srpskom talpe ili platice, (mogu biti) čelične talpe... To su dugi metalni profili sa uvijenim ivicama, koji se pobijaju u zemlju i spajaju jedan sa drugim tim uvojima, tako da kad se spoje stvaraju vodonepropustan i nesavitljiv zid od metala, koji drži to rastresito tlo (pesak, mulj i sl.), i vodu, i obezbeđuje da se iskop ne urušava zbog vlage i nestabilnosti. Ovako smo učili na građevinskom fakultetu u Beogradu.
