Arabic term

gulistan

Arabic to English Other Moroccan gardens
Another term from a German to English translation I am doing on Moroccan gardens and cities.

Here the sentence reads (Well, my translation reads!)

In the ***gulistan*** the significance/meaning of a water body as a mirror of eternity is highlighted.

The cisterns, simple water reservoirs in the kitchen garden or bustan, become mirrors in the pleasure garden’s ***gulistan*** and the irrigation channels in the former become rivers of paradise in the latter.

I have no idea what gulistan means - a pool perhaps - and the author offers no explanation. Can anyone help me?

Many thanks in advance.

Sheila
