Usually "none of them". Right now and for the first time in 15 years "more work".
|
And more hours in the day too so I can work more but still have time for family, friends, hobbies, etc. Too much to ask?!

- Administrative tasks | Jan 26, 2011 |
I'd be happier with fewer administrative tasks.
Nowadays that's the most important thing: more and more work

I would like to be able to have less work but at better rates (i.e. my income remaining constant). I'm not unhappy with the rates I have at the moment, but I need to reduce my workload and this would seem to be the only way. Life is too short to be spending so much time in the office. I vowed at the beginning of the year, that I would get myself a more stable life. I am well on the way to doing this.
Theo Bernards (X) フランス Local time: 14:09 英語 から オランダ語 + ... Better spread in client base | Jan 26, 2011 |
I voted other because I am generally quite happy where my business stands, but I am halfway there in my own objectives for the first five years. Ultimately I would like to develop further in terms of client base, reducing my dependency of a few major clients, but that is not a big issue at the moment, as I am very happy with the few agencies I work with plus the more than occasional direct customer.

One of the things I hate most is the feeling of being undervalued, or not having my work valued/acknowledged, especially when having made something intelligible and presentable out of a dog's breakfast. This lack of consideration is probably why so many clients forget to factor in translation costs/times etc when planning their "projects", resulting in rushed deadlines and unseemly haggling over rates... Yes. higher rates | Jan 26, 2011 |
Stop giving in to these pressures of reducing the rates but actually having better rates, quality is not cheap
The grass is always greener... | Jan 26, 2011 |
It's very interesting that only 2.5% of people responded with "right where I want to be". I assume, however, that the above statistics are rather distorted and in reality they signify that 97.5% of us feel there could always be an improvement, somehow. I don't think it means that nearly everyone is somehow unhappy! Personally, I'd like to have higher rates and work on projects where I feel most comfortable. Best Regards, Richard.
Higher rates... | Jan 26, 2011 |
In other words, shifting my workload more toward direct clients. I love the agencies I work with, but obviously both the customer and I come out ahead in direct-client situations.
