many thanks statistics for medicine and biology was a long time ago for me.
Milena Bosco (X) May 29, 2008:
across the "n-tuple" notation. The n-upla was used, probabily not correctly from a formal point of view, also for a matrix. Have a great day.
Milena Bosco (X) May 29, 2008:
that n-tupla would be more appropriate, even if you have n-upla in your original text. ( N-tupla has the same definition in italian, so it sould be there). I have to say though that in my university years ( I studied math) I barely came
Milena Bosco (X) May 29, 2008:
I posted n-upla while Luskie posted n-tupla. They seem similar but they define two different things. The first one is an indication of a relation the second indicates a matrix in which data can be stored. In your case Luskie (and I at this point) think

agree Milena Bosco (X) : You are right. It must have been late for me as well :).In this case we are not dealing with a relation but with a database. What surprises me is that in italian they used "n-upla" instead of n-tupla. (which is not correct based on the definition).

yes, that's why I thought that n-tuple could fit in a text like this - but I reckon I'm still having troulbe in grasping the real meaning of it (you know, it's 2:41 am ;), and I seem to understand that you can be more helpful here (no sarcasm intended!)
