Italiano term

cellule epiteliomorfe

cellule epiteliomorfe = epithelioid cells?

grazie

Discussion

Raffaela Ciampa (shabelula) (asker) Apr 19, 2020:
epitheliomorphic has started appearing in global search - US medical links so I guess I'll use this one
https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Epitheliomorphic-polyhed...

though articles using epitheliomorphic are mainly written by Italian scientists (translated or not)
Raffaela Ciampa (shabelula) (asker) Apr 19, 2020:
I could find just one international (not translated from Italian) hit for epitheliomorphic: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/18115310_The_pseudo...

morphic should mean: "shaped like" so not "epithelial" (related to the skin) but epithelioid in the sense of being "similar in shape to the skin"...

epithelial-like cells

It gets a fair number of hits. However, very low confidence; it is not my field.

I think you can use both terms (epithelioid or epithelial-like).

From the link below:
"Such epithelial-like cells were described by Cushing and Eisenhardt* in type V, variant 1 of their classification of meningiomas. This group was called “epithelioid variety” by these authors, and such cells are shown in our Fig. 1. These large, polygonal, epithelium-like cells resemble hepatic cells."
