English to Portuguese: Interview with Peter Hayes from the band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, December 2016 General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Music
Source text - English Q: I guess the only way I can start this interview is by asking, “What the hell is going on in your country?”
A: I don’t know. I gave up long ago. Let it be. Can’t really have sour grapes over it. People wanted it. So be it, we’ll see what happens.
Q: Do you just tune out of those events when it comes to writing music?
A: Sort of. How politics affects people’s lives, is what you end up writing about. It’s been messy for a while. I’m not sure that’s really politics, I think it’s just capitalism. That’s what people have chosen to try to live in, and I’m not sure I can get on that train, but it is what it is. It kinda goes bad both ways, there should be more options than just two. Been waiting for a long time for another option.

I've been working with translation for 7 years now, having done so as a hobby previously as well. I'm a native Portuguese speaker with a C2-level English, and I've worked on translations for several businesses in Brazil over the years, from various industry segments such as agriculture, engineering, health, and others. I've also worked on translating several academic papers, to and from Portuguese, for many students and professors.
Recently, I've been looking for more opportunities, and that's why I'm here. I hope I can find some translating jobs here, whether to or from Portuguese, and that I can be of good service to whomever needs.
