I grew up in Australia surrounded by books. I am a native English speaker and reading literature and writing have always had a strong presence in my life.
At University I completed an undergraduate degree in International Development Studies and Indigenous Australian Studies and a diploma in Spanish. During this time I spent a semester studying Sociology, in a Mexican university and fell completely in love with the Spanish language. For the past five years I have been living in Mexico and Argentina, with Spanish being my principal working language. During this time I have gained extensive experience as an ESL teacher and more recently have begun translating for tourism offices. Meanwhile I have maintained a strong connection with the field of International Development, through working with several indigenous communities and non-government organisations. At present I feel I have much to contribute to these fields by providing accurate, context relevant translations.
Sanitation, public health, environmental care, music, indigenous art and textiles are some topics that fascinate me and I would be thrilled to translate around these subjects.
