A brief history of my translation career since 2005:
2005-2016: Worked in-house for Kromberg & Schubert (global automotive supplier). Main translation tasks included work instructions, process flows, forms, presentations, reports, training material, technical manuals.
2008 - present: Started to freelance in 2008, took the plunge to freelance full-time from September 2016. Working with professional, top-quality agencies and a few direct clients (Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, BorgWarner, Imfuyo Projects), my core business can be boiled down to the following areas (though I do take on other projects, and I make a good job of them too):
- cable harnesses
- EGR valves (FMEAs)
- medical reports (cardiovascular studies)
- garden tools
- automotive lighting
- company reports, financial statements
- Skoda standards
- invitations to EU events/panel discussions
I also have a huge interest in sport and in history/politics, which formed a big part of my academic life.
Living in South Africa, I can offer value as well as African style.
