Source text - English The clip illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3 is designated 10 and comprises a generally cylindrical portion 12 which has a longitudinally extending slit 14 therein.
The slit 14 enables the two generally semi-cylindrical portions designated 16, 18 to flex with respect to one another to increase the width of slit 14.
A mounting portion 20 is molded integrally with the portion 12. The portions 12 and 20 are offset with respect to one another as best seen in the end elevation of Figure. 2.
The mounting portion 20 extends for most of the length of the cylindrical portion 12 and has therein a central aperture which is designated 22.
The aperture 22 is closed on three sides. Raised ribs designated 24, 26 and 28 form the boundary of the aperture 22 on these three sides. On the fourth side of the aperture there is a bar designated 30 which, as best seen in Figure 3, partially closes the fourth side of the aperture 22.
One face of the mounting portion 20, that designated 32 in Figure 2, is planar and the other face, that visible in Figure 1, is provided with raised strengthening ribs 34 which bound two depressions 36.
The clip 10.1 shown in Figures 4 to 6 is similar to that shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3 and where applicable like parts of been designated with like reference numerals.
The clip 10.1 is smaller than the clip 10 of Figures 1 to 3, its cylindrical portion 12 being approximately half the length of the cylindrical portion 12 of the clip of Figures 1 to 3, with the mounting portion 16 being commensurately smaller.
The aperture 22 in Figures 4 to 6 is also of smaller dimensions than the aperture 22 of Figures 1 to 3.
In accordance with the invention, the clips are used with what are known in the art as "cable ties". A cable tie conventionally comprises a locking portion which is in the form of a block which has a slot through it with a flexible ratchet tooth in the slot.
The cable tie further has a strap which is integral with the block and has a plurality of transverse ribs. As the strap is pushed through the slot, the ratchet tooth is deformed by the transverse ribs as they pass it.

A abertura 22 é fechada em três lados. Nervuras elevadas designadas 24, 26 e 28 formam o limite da abertura 22 nestes três lados. No quarto lado da abertura, existe uma barra designada 30 que, como se observa melhor na Figura 3, fecha parcialmente o quarto lado da abertura 22.
Uma face da porção de suporte 20, aquela designada 32 na Figura 2, é planar e a outra face, aquela visível na Figura 1, é provida de nervuras de reforço elevadas 34 que unem duas depressões 36.
O elemento de fixação 10.1 mostrado nas Figuras 4 a 6 é semelhante àquele mostrado nas Figuras 1, 2 e 3 e, quando aplicável, semelhante a partes que foram designadas com números de referência semelhantes.
O elemento de fixação 10.1 é menor do que o elemento de fixação 10 das Figuras 1 a 3, a sua porção cilíndrica 12 sendo aproximadamente metade do comprimento da porção cilíndrica 12 do elemento de fixação das Figuras 1 a 3, com a porção de suporte 16 sendo proporcionalmente menor.
A abertura 22 nas Figuras 4 a 6 também é de dimensões menores do que a abertura 22 das Figuras 1 a 3.
De acordo com a invenção, os elementos de fixação são utilizados com o que são conhecidas na arte como “braçadeiras de cabos”. Uma braçadeira de cabo compreende convencionalmente uma porção de bloqueio que se encontra na forma de um bloco que tem uma ranhura através dele com um dente de retenção flexível na ranhura.
A braçadeira de cabo tem ainda uma cinta que é integral com o bloco e tem uma pluralidade de nervuras transversais. À medida que a cinta é empurrada através da ranhura, o dente de retenção é deformado pelas nervuras transversais à medida que elas passam por ele.
