Hi,

I have a project for Swiss German-->Swiss French but I would like to use a German-French TM. How can I do that?

(I'm using Trados 2014)

Thanks in advance!

Edit .tmx in text editor to create a new TM Mar 9, 2018

I think there is still no option to simply change language variants but there is a simple workaround:

1) Export your de-DE to fr-FR TM to .tmx.
2) Open the .tmx file in a text editor (eg. Notepad++ or similar).
3) Replace the language code manually (global search & replace should do, replacing one language code for another, ie. "de-DE" to "de-CH" and "fr-FR" to "fr-CH").
4) Create a new TM from the edited .tmx file.
5) You now have a de-CH to fr-CH<

It's quite a straight-forward process and shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
