Could anyone help me with my dissertation topic for my MA studies in Translation Technologies, please?

Hello everyone.

Could anyone help me with my dissertation topic for my MA studies in Translation Technologies, please?

I want to do a practical project localising a small Android app for mobile devices. I thought about localising a choose-your-own-adventure type of game for this purpose, as there is a lot of text material to translate and it blends the worlds of fantasy storytelling, video games, mobile apps and technical translation. However, my supervisor said I need a strong theory to support it, make it more niche and approach it from a new, interesting angle. I tried suggesting domestication as a way to approach the literary translation and a more formal approach for the technical translation, but that's too broad.

Any suggestions where to start my research would be appreciated, thank you. ▲ Collapse
