Hi all,
Just saw this slogan going live for a well known jeans commercial,
I strongly feel usage of how is wrong,
Please explain me

How, however Sep 30, 2017

I guess I would expect “like” or “as” instead of “how”.

“How” seems to be used as a conjunction here, not as an interrogative adverb, as in:

You can travel how you please.
You can live your life how you want.

In the sense of however; in whatever manner or way.

It's pretty normal Sep 30, 2017

Try Googling for "Live how you love" and you'll find it's a very common construction. "Like" or "as" could certainly replace "how", but I'm not sure they're better in context. Advertising jeans calls for language that isn't too formal, or even too "correct".

PS yes, it should be "please explain."; "please explain it."; "please explain it to me.". But not to worry .

It's a Dutchism Sep 30, 2017

"Leef hoe je danst" (Live how you dance) would be possible in Dutch.

They must have used it on purpose.

Cheers,
Gerard
