NWTN introduces: French Connections 21 September, 2019 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm The North West Translators' Network would like to invite ProZ members to a French-themed guided tour from 10am to approx. 12 noon taking in the sights of Manchester. At the end of the tour, there will be time to sample some of Manchester’s culinary offerings in anticipation of the afternoon Gastronomy workshop which will take place at the Alliance Française on Portland Street. This will be followed by a hands-on translation workshop, involving the collaborative translation of a range of texts on the theme of local gastronomy, food and drink and should prove both enlightening and entertaining.
The workshop will begin at 1.30 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. Fee (including both the guided tour and workshop): ITI/NWTN members – £15, others – £20 (the tour is open to friends and family for a guest fee of £5).
Finally, anyone who will be in Manchester on the previous evening (Friday 20 September), is invited to join us for a ‘dîner français’ at Côte Brasserie on St. Mary’s Street at 7.30 p.m., for a chance to network, practise their French and enjoy some fine French cuisine! Please note that this involves an additional cost.
