ISO9001 and other international standards (15038:2006 - European Translation Services, TL9000 for Telecom, CMMI, etc) have often obtained a poor reputation for creating a significant amount of administrative overhead and much paperwork. Jeff Allen has coached and led 2 major software companies (MYCOM and SAP France) through successful certification and also 3-year recertification as the ISO9001 Quality Management Representative and Quality Manager of each company, and provided expert knowledge for audit preparation at 2 other companies including a major translation company. His coaching principles and implementation have resulted in a record number of good points (highest score in audit reports) in his most recent audit series, and even received a major acknowledgement by an experienced external auditor who had never seen such a great adoption of quality management in such a major company. In this session, he shares with us his expert insights and advice on how to cut through all the details of these standards and get to the real key essentials, and how to use these to promote a successful adoption of ISO9001 among production and development teams, including doing this in agile, scrum-bused, lean framework environments.

Jeff will provide analogies to help team members of different roles understand the real benefits and relevance of ISO9001, with a minimum amount of paperwork. He will show how he has made the topic of ISO9001 not only a fun topic of discussion, but really driving the team members to adopt and implement it with conviction.
